Welcome all to another book tag post here at Always Trust In Books. As you can see from that awesome Alaskan sunset in the cover image, I am having a tranquil day. I am taking my mind away from the TBR in my room that threatens to topple over and seriously maim me at some point in the near future. The Anything But Books Tag seemed perfect to accomplish this task. I was not nominated but I did see the tag over at Cover To Cover, so go and check out Liz’s fantastic blog as soon as you can. Feel free to join in.
To The Questions!
Name a cartoon that you love
I have two small and epic children who love to watch all sort of cartoons, so naturally I watch too. There are so many options that I… I mean they love. It is a tie between Hey Duggee (because it is brilliant) and Go Jetters (because the theme tune is awesome). I put way too much thought into that… On to the next question.
What is your favorite song right now?
I have many a favourite song buzzing around in my head at any one time. My current two favourites are Hangover by Alestorm, as it is sticks deep in your mind and won’t budge, and Ref by Pentatonix. I will let you make your own mind up about the last one but I love the fact that they are a completely A Capella group :D.
What could you do for hours that isn’t reading?
Gaming. I grew up in the middle of nowhere, so when I wasn’t out exploring the wilderness, I was playing games. Since having a family I have sort of moved on but I could quite easily regress and play all day. Sad but true 😀
What is something that you love to do that your followers would be surprised by?
I am a fairly unsurprising fellow unfortunately. I love to clean! I like to power through the house work listening to something particularly heavy on the headphones. I always feel better after a thorough tidy 😀 Wow this is making look like a dork. Yep…
What is your favourite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about?
Memory is one thing I love to learn about. From either a psychological or biological perspective. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my memory in any shape or form. I managed to learn a method where I memorised all the elements on the periodic table and all the U.S states. I learnt them about 3 years ago and I still remember most of it so that is a win of sorts.
What is something unusual that you know how to do?
In college I took an army survival course. After 3 days of training I had to spend 48 hours hiding from a Hunter Force unit on an army base. That was a cold and hard two days, making dens out of forest and avoiding patrols. Was a fun experience though and the next year I got to go back and be on the Hunter Force team.
Name something that you made last year and show us if you can.
I didn’t make anything last year but I mended a broken nursing chair for my wife. Felt good 😀
What is your most recent personal project?
With a full time job, a fully time family and a full time hobby; I don’t have much room for additional projects. I have started to focus on exercise a bit more, putting a plan together etc… Reaching for a chocolate biscuit…
Tell us something that you think about often?
The future. I am always reading books about alternative futures and doomsday plots but I do spend a lot of time thinking about the actual future. I am constantly in awe of our progressions and our failures. Medicine, politics and economics aren’t really subjects I know much about and yet they are on my mind a lot.
Give us something that is your favorite, but make it oddly specific.
I am not an oddly specific kind of guy. Not to toot my own horn but I am fairly pragmatic in life. I am happy with what I have and anything else is a bonus. Apart from coffee, it has to be strong, taste good and kick my arse back into gear, otherwise I get a bit huffy.
Say the first thing that pops into your head.
I have a scene from Friends stuck in my head at the moment. It is the scene where someone has eaten Ross’ Thanksgiving turkey sandwich. His boss admits to it and Ross flips out. It is hilarious! “My Saaaaaaaandwiiiiiiiiiich!!!!!” My head is always busy 😀
Thank you for coming by to check out my day off book tag. This was a lot of fun as it is great to have a day off and think about the other things that are important to you. I appreciate all of your support and until next time, happy reading!

Well done on the tag and many thanks for the mention 🙂 I feel rather honored… hehe…
First of all, I think the survival course thing is cool… really cool, some great skills come from this and interesting insight about oneself, too… but… and your wife is a lucky woman! a man who enjoyes housework and cleaning? hot damn! bwahahahaha… my gosh, having said that- how sad is it that once you reach a certain age, such things become totally admirable? 😀 good stuff though! I need to give my hubbie a to do list every now and again otherwise nothing would get done 😀
