Music Monday
Music Monday is a tag that was created by Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek. You pick a song and/or video and share it on Monday. It is a great opportunity to offer up your favourite music for everyone to listen too and cheer them up on the worst day of the week.
I seem to be on a roll with killer covers from some amazing bands. I’ve actually got a Linkin Park cover series coming up which is amazing but for now we have Halflives cover of Welcome To The Black Parade to enjoy. This cover sounds like it belongs in a musical. It is beautiful and somehow kickass at the same time. Please give it a listen and tell me what you thought!
Welcome To The Black Parade by Halflives [MCR Cover]
Welcome To The Black Parade Lyrics
When i was a young girl
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band
He said, “girl, when you grow up
Would you be the savior of the broken
The beaten and the damned?”He said, “Will you defeat them
Your demons, and all the non-believers
The plans that they have made?”
“Because one day I’ll leave you
A phantom to lead you in the summer
To join the black parade.”Sometimes I get the feeling she’s watching over me
And other times I feel like I should go
And through it all, the rise and fall, the bodies in the streets
And when you’re gone, we want you all to knowWe’ll carry on
We’ll carry on
And though you’re dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We’ll carry onAnd in my heart I can’t contain it
The anthem won’t explain itDo or die, you’ll…

Thanks for stopping by to experience yet another cover! I do plan on posting a Linkin Park series in the coming weeks. There are some epic bands that have taken on the best of LP and it would be amazing to share them with you all. I know they probably aren’t going to be bands you traditionally would listen too but Chester Bennington is a man worth honouring so please give them a go. Thanks for supporting my posts, I appreciate it enormously!
