Friday Face-Off – 20th July – A Cover Featuring Icicles Or Snow (Backdated Post) #FridayFaceOff #BookArt #Blogging #Books #CoverDesign

Friday Face-Off

The Friday Face-Off is a meme created by Books by Proxy with a current list of themes to be found over at Lynn’s Books. This book meme is an opportunity to compare the covers of a certain title that connect to a weekly theme. I saw this over at The Tattooed Book Geek, If by chance you are not aware of his blog then please do pop over there and give Drew a follow, his blog is very much worth your time. Enjoy this week’s theme and let me know which cover design you prefer and why! Also make sure you join in next week!

This Weeks Theme Is

20th July -‘In winter with warm tears I’ll melt the snow’ – A cover featuring icicles or snow. I have gone with three different novels for this post as it was hard to find one novel with two separate snow themed covers that I had at least picked up. Here we have three snowy covers. Which one do you like the best?

Book One

Book Two

.433

Book Three

Winner

I adored this cover design from the moment I saw it. It is really alternative and eye-catching. It doesn’t have the cool tranquillity that usually accompanies a snow based illustration. It suits the narrative perfectly! The reverse of the book is just as intriguing with its bold orangeness. Good Stuff! Do you agree with my decision? Let me know!

  1. I think I would have to agree with your choice. It’s definitely the most eye catching, and it would make me stop and pick it up in a book store!

  2. I really like the first cover – and great idea comparing three different books btw, why didn’t I think of that – but, I prefer your choice too tbh – I like that the lights are on in some of the houses.
