Hello Everyone! Book tags seem to be a fun and addictive alternative to your everyday book related content. I have never participated in one yet, so I thought I would bring my own the table. I have googled ‘Blogger Stats’ book tag and nothing overly similar presented itself, so I have decided to go with that.
This tag is 20 quickfire questions regarding your very own book blog. There are very few rules. Just answer the questions, nominate as many people as you want and have fun doing so. I am going to nominate 6 blogs to join in with this tag. They are as follows:
The Questions!
The last three books you read?
The Age of Olympus by Gavin Scott. My Sister by Michelle Adams. Skitter by Ezekiel Boone.
Spoilers or spoiler free?
I love spoilers! But I try to keep them out of my reviews if I can.
How long have you been book blogging?
Just over a year now. Have met lots of great people and had plenty of fun doing so!
A book you read in one sitting?
Sinner Man by Lawrence Block. I took it out of the envelope and ended up reading it there and then after having a sneak peak at the first few pages.
Your favourite genre?
This is a hard one… Probably Mystery if I had to pick one for the rest of time. I like a good challenge.
Preferred book size? (novella, tome…etc)
I reckon about 400 pages is about the sweet spot for me.
Amount of books on your TBR?
Don’t want to talk about it… (at least 100 :O)
A book you have DNF’d?
The Unspeakable by Meghan Daum. Just could not get on with it in any shape or form.
Recent awards or milestones?
I have just re-started my blog on WordPress and it is doing well. That is enough for me at the moment 😀
Best interaction with an author you enjoy?
Probably when Chuck Wendig shared my review on his Twitter page. That was a good day 😀
Average number of books you read per month?
It varies. I try and read three books a week and usually suceed.
Top three publishers?
I don’t like choosing but these three have supported me the whole time I have been blogging. Titan Books, Gollancz and Bloomsbury.
Social media sites your blog uses?
Oh dear… I have Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Goodreads, Tumblr… I could go on.
Average amount of time you spend networking?
Now I am on WordPress it is significantly more. But I have a lot of fun doing it so the time flies. I would say at least 2 hours a day… is that a lot?
Most comfortable blogging position?
On the couch. Earphones in and a blanket over my head. Yep 😀 Comfy.
Music or quiet when writing reviews?
Music! Skrillex, Volbeat, Our Last Night and many more.
Can you sum up your blogging style in 5 words?
Lengthy. Fair. Layered. Personal. Fun…? Right…?
A blog you looked up to starting out?
So many. Pretty much every blog on the internet. Drew at The Tattooed Book Geek and all of the ladies and gents on Twitter have helped me so much. Thank you to you all!
The best book you have reviewed so far?
Another tough one! And I wrote these questions… Probably The Vanishing by Sophia Tobin. I think this is the first review I wrote with no hesitation or doubt.
Best piece of blogging advice?
Put the time in. Hard work and continuous development. I don’t think I will ever settle into one style of blogging…
Phew… I hope you have learned a little more about me as a blogger here. I want to know more about you as a blogger, or even a reader. Set out your own version of this tag or leave some details of your preferences in the comments section below. Thank you for stopping by to check out some of my quirks and flaws. It is all in the name of books!
Thanks so much for tagging me Stuart! I love the cover of Sinner Man by Lawrence Block! Woah it’s so cool!

I DNF a lot of stuff, isn’t that terrible? I usually have a half dozen books sitting on and under the coffee table, and on the floor next to my bed. if I’ve started something, and for whatever reason don’t feel like reading it, i’ll pick up something else, and then usually the 1st book gets forgotten about. I did get like 2/3 of the way through a book called Hidden People before it just got too slow and boring to continue.
best blogging advice? don’t stop blogging. even if it’s been 2 weeks since your last post, just put up a post, it doesn’t matter what it is.

You have helped by just being a great example of a decent, entertaining and well organised blog. You have thrown a few pointers my way here and there as well. I have loads of people to thank for getting me to this point.
